The April 25th earthquake damaged nearly every house in Mankhu village. Some lost everything they owned. Houses in the village were built from stone and mud, most all were two stories. The first order of business following the earthquakes was to create temporary shelter. For many this meant knocking down the second story of the house where damage had been greatest and using the remaining first floor of the house as a temporary home. Our volunteers at Her Farm are pictured here helping one of our neighbors remove the second story of the house to create a one-story temporary home. This fall, after the monsoons are over there will be a lot of reconstruction work required to rebuild homes in this village. Come to Nepal and help us rebuild our village.
